What do you love about the town your home is in?
Forest Lake has a small-town feel, yet is close to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. There are three workout facilities in town, and a new YMCA is scheduled to be built soon. There are many restaurants. There is a Target, Walmart, Menards, and Home Depot. There are paved bike trails running through town. Forest Lake is a wonderful lake: good fishing, boating, swimming, snowmobile trails. The Lakeside Park Area is beautiful, and holds a weekly farmer's market during the summer. Many churches. There is something for everyone.
If you are in a neighborhood, what great things do you do there?
Lots of lake activities: boating, yard games, cooking out, bonfires, fishing off the dock.
My favorite restaurants around this home are:
The Old Log Cabin on Highway 97 is a favorite. Great food and atmosphere. Za Italian Restaurant is top notch: great ingredients, atmosphere, and lakeside view.
Grocery stores I love to shop at?
Several to choose from: Target, Walmart, Cub Foods. We shop them all. Kohls is approximately 15 minutes away. There is outlet shopping in North Branch (20 minutes away).
Key points about the property that I/we were drawn to?
Incredible view! The lakeside deck is wonderful. It is very relaxing to sit outside and watch the boat traffic. The paver-stone driveway and stone stairway is very attractive. Master Bedroom has a sliding door that leads outside onto the lakeside deck.
Why people should move to this area; why I/we were attracted?
Very little traffic, as we are near the end of the cul-de-sac. The lakeside lot is incredible. The taxes in Washington County are very reasonable. Living on the bay has some advantages to being on the lake: no-wake zone, less boat traffic, quieter, excellent fishing off dock.
Any great schools or other things to mention?
We live close to the school, like to go to the high school football games.
Anything else you can think of to attract a potential buyer?
Beautiful lakeside home in Forest Lake. Being in the city (versus the township) the house is connected to city water (not well water). Cable television and internet available, in addition to natural gas. Why have a house and a cabin when you can live on a great lake only 30 minutes from Minneapolis or St. Paul?
What did you do for interests and hobbies near to the property?
Boating, fishing, cooking-out, eating at great restaurants like Old Log Cabin.
