Have You Outgrown Your Current House
What happens if you’re outgrowing your current house?
Whether you started out in a 2-bedroom home and need more rooms to accommodate your growing family or you are interested in an acreage or larger lot, how do you go about moving up into a bigger property? What’s the best way to proceed?
First, you need to get your current house on the market. Of course, every situation is different. We will sit down with you and look at the market to figure out what’s best for you. Generally, though, it’s best to sell your current home first.
Why? When you sell your house, you will have 30 to 45 days to find and buy your next house. If you find your next house first, then you are kind of under the gun when it comes to selling your current home. You may even end up selling your current home for less than what it’s worth in order to move into the new one.
It’s important to do everything in the correct order. Whether you are moving up to a bigger property or a higher price range, you need to get a good price on your current house so you can make that next move.
If you have any other questions about moving out of your outgrown house, just give us a call or send us an email. We would be happy to help you!
