What do you love about the neighborhood?:We love having the best location on the lake! The sunsets are GORGEOUS! In addition, the cabin is set back more than the surrounding cabins/homes which affords us more privacy for relaxing. Having the same neighbors for 40+ years makes for a comfortable environment. And, the nearby boat access (within walking distance) makes getting your boat on and off the lake very easy and convenient.

What are some great things about your city?:We like having Mission Park within a 1/2 mile (again, within walking distance), which has many amenities, such as tennis and basketball courts, paved walking paths, horseshoes, 9 hole Frisbee disk golf, children's play area, baseball field, covered picnic area/pavilion, and restrooms. Many of the lake sponsored events are held at the park. In addition, we love having the Mission Town Hall and Fire Department within 2 miles for security, which is also where you can bring your recyclables for processing.

What restaurants are nearby?:Wow, what can you say about the variety of eating places within 10 miles of the cabin?! The local, Mission Tavern, is right down the road and is a great place to hang out with others from the lake. The Sportsman store is even closer, which has great breakfasts, along with bait, tackle, gas, and groceries available. Head north 7 miles to Cross Lake and the options become even greater, where you will find everything from fine dining to local pizza joints, and everything in between. Plus, many restaurants are on water with nice patios for a view.

What grocery stores or nearby shopping is there?:Cross Lake, which is also a small quaint tourist location, has many shopping venues. From small local shops in and near the Town Square, to Reeds Market (a local grocery store), to Ace Hardware for all our hardware needs. When you get to the lake, it's all about convenience, which, for shopping, is what we love about Crosslake. In addition, Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, and Brainerd/Baxter are just a short drive away, which also affords many shopping opportunities.

What do you do for interests and hobbies near the property?:Well, when you come to the cabin, it's all about the lake! Being it's one of the cleanest lakes in MN and has a fine sand bottom and is fairly shallow (and also known as Sandbar Lake), the swimming is great, especially for the kids! We also love the many fishing spots throughout the lake, along with long, slow boat rides around it's parameter on our pontoon. And, did we mention the sunsets?! Often, on our side of the lake, many of the neighbors will meet down at the shoreline just to sit and watch the sunset. It's a nightly ritual that never gets old!

Tell us about any additional property highlights, upgrades, recent updates that have been done: Other property highlights are the flat landscape all the way to the lake, being setback from the neighbors for additional privacy, having a large deck attached, and 130" feet of new docking, which includes permanent decking. The lake owners also help support boat inspections in and out of the lake during the summer, which has helped keep Horseshoe Lake free from aquatic species.

Key points about the house that we were drawn to when we first looked at the home:The cabin has been in the family for nearly 50 years and is a great place for family gatherings throughout the summer! The front of the cabin is a large great room with large picture windows affording beautiful views of the sunsets. It also has 2 sleeper sofas for additional sleeping capacity. The large attached deck affords many hours of outside family time (and, with Mosquito Squad, we are mosquito free!). The clear, sand bottom, and shallow beach area makes for great swimming and water activities. All this, matched with great neighbors, makes the cabin a wonderful place to relax and get away from it all!
