What we Love about the area:


We love the fact that it is in the country yet only 30 mins from the metro area. We have acres of wide open space for our horses and live on a gravel road that significantly reduces the amount of traffic that comes by. We wanted peace and tranquility and we definitely have it in this country setting.


Great things about your town/city?


Living in the "chain of lakes" area offers all the amenities of anything/everything you would want from from city living due to the proximity of the metro area, yet Chisago City/Lindstrom offer, at least for us, the much preferred, small town feel where things move at a bit of a slower place. The town celebrations seem to be ongoing during the summer and both communities offer a wide array of community events.


If you are in a neighborhood, what great things do you do there?


We are in the country, however, the neighbors who live on our road, are very friendly and the neighbors often hang out together. We have frequent bonfires, yearly 4th of july celebrations, and many fall gatherings. It will be the biggest thing I miss about living there.

Many restaurants nearby or in the area. Our favorites are, Eitchen's bistro (center city), the Northern( Chisago) Chicko's (Chisago) China Panda (Lindstrom and Chisago), as well as many other options in nearby Forest Lake.


Wonderful Grocery Stores or near by shopping:


Every town has a grocery store from the bigger box stores in Forest lake which have Cub and Walmart to the smaller town stores like Brink's in Chisago. Depending on you preference you can find whatever you need.


Great things about the Schools:


We don't have any kids in the school system: however, I have heard only great things about the Chisago Lakes school. Smaller class sizes and more individual attention that you can only get in small town schools. Having grown up in a small town near the South Dakota border, I can definitely say that if I had children I would want them in a school like Chisago Lakes than a big suburb school that has 700 kids in each grade.


What did you do for interests and hobbies near to the property?


We moved to the country for our love of the outdoors and our horses. However if you are into other things our property easily access snowmobile trails, you can ride atv's to near by lakes. We have dogs and love the fact that we have room to run around and exercise them on.


Tells us all about any additional property highlights, upgrades, recent updates that have been done.


To be honest we have not done a lot to this home. The character of the log home already makes a strong statement in it's outside and inside cozy appeal. We have recently stained the exterior with a high quality stain. We did finish the basement and use it as our family room.


Key points about the house that you were drawn to when you first looked at the home:


For us, the country setting and land was what we looking for first. The fact that we found it with a log home on the property was icing on the cake for us. As soon as we walked in the door we were basically sold. It is great, especially now during these winter months, to look over the property and watching the horses, while sitting next to the fire inside. Sort of gives it that story book appeal.


Average utility costs? (not required)


Electric, is probably $70 to $100.


Propane: Fluctuates it is currently costs about $300 to fill the tank and that happens about every 6 week from Nov through march Longer span between fills during the fall and spring. Then that cost goes to about zero during the spring and summer months.
