Circle Pines still has a small town feel.  The residential streets are quiet, with joggers, dog walkers, and just casual walkers, and adjacent parks (Carl Eck Park just down the road from me) with ball games and other activities.  Yet I am five houses away from Lexington Avenue.  That puts me half a mile from Fleet Farm, and just a mile from Blaine Village with Cub Foods, Home Depot, Walmart, and a number of great stores.


Interstate 35W is less than a mile away, for quick access for work or for escape from town!


The Centennial school district serves Circle Pines.  It’s rated as 2nd in the state in academic achievement and preparation.


When I first saw my house it reminded me of my childhood, with the story-and-a-half design and large backyard.  The huge oaks and pines are old, and seem to shelter you personally as you walk around the yard.  The nuthatches, chickadees, and of course crows serenade you every time you walk outside.  Occasionally a deer wanders through the neighborhood.


When I purchased the place, I did find a very sturdy construction, but with a need for updating.  (In 2007 I was the second owner of this 1955 house.)  So what I’ve done in the last 8½ years includes:


  • Electric: replaced 60 amp fuse box with 200 amp service, and brought Connexus in underground

  • New roof, with architectural shingles.  (Hail damage in fall of 2007.)

  • New Class B chimney from basement to roof, eliminating asbestos liner, using mitigation firm.  (May, 2008.)

  • New windows – entire house (Nov 2009).  Marvin top of the line.

  • Attic insulation, and bathroom “green” fan (Nov 2009).

  • Radon testing (1.3 pCi/L).

  • Plumbing: new bath surround, shower, vanity, toilet.  Replaced external faucets and installed valves throughout system.

  • Exterior painting and repairs (May 2012).

  • Gutters (Aug 2012).

  • New bathroom floor (Jul 2012).

  • Interior painting (Nov 2015).

  • Carpet upstairs, and new kitchen vinyl (Dec 2015)

  • GFCI outlets in kitchen & bathroom; dryer wiring upgraded; and misc. changes.


Note that permits have been pulled, and projects inspected, wherever required.


I will be leaving the Twin Cities.  Otherwise I would stay right here!
